BBCG’s Youth Engagement strand empowers young Black Britons ranging from students in secondary education to university students. A number of members are involved in respective mentoring and education initiatives and BBCG is planning to pilot a mentoring programme within schools in inner London. The importance of guiding young people to become future leaders is of unparalleled importance.
Breaking Barriers Student Law Conference
On 12 October 2018, BBCG and the Society of Black Lawyers hosted the successful Breaking Barriers Student Law Conference for BAME students seeking a career in the legal profession.
During the course of the day, aspiring lawyers from BAME backgrounds learned how to leverage opportunities for career success and explored topics surrounding diversity within the profession.
The keynote address was delivered by Baroness Hale, President of the UK Supreme Court.
